Controller Gateway does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. It reads game-controller input on your phone and relays it over your own local WiFi network to a receiver application that you run on your own Windows PC. No data is sent to us (the developer) or to any third party. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.
Controller Gateway captures input from a game controller you have paired to your Android device (through the Android system Bluetooth settings) and sends that input as small data packets over your local network (WiFi) to the Controller Gateway receiver running on your PC. The receiver presents the input to your PC as a standard controller. Force-feedback (rumble) data may travel back from the PC to the app to vibrate your controller.
All of this happens on your local network only. The app does not connect to any server operated by the developer or by any third party.
None. Specifically, Controller Gateway does not collect or process:
The only data the app handles is real-time game-controller input (button and stick states) and rumble feedback. This data is transient, used solely to relay your controller to your PC, and is not stored by the app and never leaves your local network.
android.permission.INTERNET) — required to open a local network socket and send controller-input packets over WiFi to the receiver on your own PC. Despite the Android label "full network access," the app uses it only to communicate with a device on your local network. It does not send data to the internet at large or to the developer.android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE) — used to help discover and connect to your PC receiver on the local network. It does not access the internet and does not collect location.Bluetooth: Controller Gateway does not request a Bluetooth permission. You pair your controller to your phone using Android's own system Bluetooth settings, and the app receives the controller's input through Android's standard input system. The app does not scan for, manage, or access Bluetooth devices itself.
Controller input and rumble data are used only to relay your controller between your phone and your PC in real time. This information is not sold, shared, or disclosed to the developer or to any third party. There are no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics providers in the app.
The app does not maintain a database of personal information. Controller input is processed in memory and transmitted immediately; it is not written to persistent storage or retained after your session. The app may store minimal, non-personal local settings on your device (for example, the last-used PC address or app preferences) purely for your convenience; this stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Because Controller Gateway communicates only over your local network and does not transmit personal data, the primary protection for your data is the security of your own home or private WiFi network. We recommend using a trusted, password-protected WiFi network.
Controller Gateway is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because the app collects no personal data at all, it does not create a privacy risk specific to children.
The app itself contains no third-party services, SDKs, ads, or analytics. To function, Controller Gateway works together with the separate Controller Gateway PC receiver, which you download and run on your own Windows PC. The receiver likewise operates only on your local network and does not transmit your data to the developer or third parties. Downloading the receiver from a hosting provider (such as GitHub) is subject to that provider's own privacy practices for the download itself.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above and posting the revised policy at the same URL. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
